Annual Post

As far as I know, Risako is the only person who ever reads this, so hello Risako if you are reading this one!

It seems that this blog seems to go forgotten by me for around a year and a month until I suddenly have some time, space and thoughts that I think about putting down. It also seems kind of fitting, having just read the blog I wrote a year ago that I should write again now. We all kno that life moves on very quickly indeed and things change, but it's important to reflect on some of these changes and try to learn and grow from them, even the painful changes.

Well, Transition didn't break up, but Steve left (which was almost as painful). It left a big hollow patch in the band for months, that still seems strange now sometimes, especially when I hear or see something related to some of the best experiences we had together. He was the one that really caught the same 'Taiwan disease' that I have.

Anyway, I can truly say that despite his absence, God has blessed Transition and we have moved forward, much further than we could have expected in fact. In November he left, in December we began to rework everything and in February we relaunched. In March I then went to Japan for the first time and something new began there I think. I stayed with Ryu and his family and spent a lot of time practising drums with him (he's one of the top 10 Korean drummers) which really reinspired me in my own playing.

Transition also linked up with new friends in Taiwan and made our first trip in Singapore which was quite something.
Jes was diagnosed with diabetes in the summer and along with that was our longest most hectic tour too, so it was another thing to try to cope with and work into what we do. In all of it I find myself often on the verge of blaming God for the things that have gone wrong, rather than thanking Him for the blessings that are poured out on me (often at the same time). I suppose part of being successful in life is being able to see the good and be grateful for it while at the same time dealing with and trying to work through the bad.

Now we find ourselves recording a new album, and all the trials that go with it!
Well, mabe I'll write again in a year or so we'll see.
