Making Improvements...

It's interesting isn't it, how it's hard to focus on too many things at once. My mum always said that this is a male problem only, that females can multi-task and do each task as well as the others all at once. I certainly can't, so while my Chinese level has improved a lot this year, my drumming hasn't moved on very much, a problem that I've been thinking about how to address over the last couple of months.

我今年都在忙樂團的事和學中文，所以我中文比去年好很多，前進樂團進步得很多，但是我自己打鼓的能力沒有什麼大的進步。我想
這樣就很自然因為每天只有二十四個小時，一定要專心一件事就對。不過我媽媽都說這是男人的問題，她認為女人可以同時做很多事也都做很好！

Well, 我不知道她的想法有沒有導裡，可是我打鼓的問題還在！所以我決定如果我要有進步我一定需要一個新的挑戰，我一定要突破我自己以前的限制！

結果我決定去做一場打鼓表演。只有我所以沒辦法奪在後面哈哈，我一定要努力得練習到一個很棒的程度！

So finally I decided the only way to progress beyond my current level was to take on a challenge that was totally new and beyond what I've done before, the result, I'm playing a solo performance at Witchouse in Taipei on Friday July 16th.

I'd better go and practice orz...

Wedding!

在台灣參加婚禮的感角跟在英國參加婚禮很不一樣。
好像台灣的婚禮平常比較大，但是比較短。食物也比英國的好吃（我不是說在英國婚禮的食物不好吃，但是台灣的婚禮菜還是太好吃）！
上個禮拜我們去一個朋友的婚禮表演。他們兩個就在英國認識所以在台灣站在舞台上唱歌祝福他們的婚姻真的是個大的榮興。

Last week we had the chance to attend the wedding of our friend Chia Chi. She had studied in Bristol and spent time around my house, hanging out with a group of us who would often cook, eat, eat and cook together!
We hadn't actually been in contact for some time, but in the past month then there was the chance to meet again and catch up on news, including finding out that her wedding was just around the corner!!

As well as the honour of being invited, we were asked to perform, so it was quite an occasion. To be able to have know Chia Chi in England (and who incidentally met her husband, Ted, in England too) and then be able to stand on the stage at their wedding party in Taiwan and bless the start of their marriage was a great honour indeed!

It's been a year full of interesting and surprising experiences so far and last week was definitely another fantastic one to add to the list!
